Cube Solver Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 16, 2026

Cube Solver (the “App”) is a standalone cube scanning and solving tutor. Our principle is simple: your data stays on your device. The App has no server, requires no account, and does not collect, upload or sell any personal information.

We do not collect data

The App collects no personal information and no usage data: no account system, no behavioural analytics, no ad tracking, no third-party statistics SDKs. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

Camera

The scanning feature needs the camera to see the cube in your hands. The camera image is processed in real time on your device only: the App recognises the cube’s size and colours from the picture as it arrives, and each frame is discarded immediately afterwards by default. Nothing is saved as a photo or a video, and nothing is ever uploaded to any server. You can revoke camera access at any time in the system Settings; other features such as scramble practice keep working after you do.

The scan screen offers a “diagnostic recording” switch that is off by default and exists to troubleshoot recognition problems: while it is on, centre-cropped frames from the scan are saved in the App’s folder on your device (you can view and delete them in the Files app; only the most recent few scans are kept). These diagnostic files are likewise never uploaded — they are yours alone, unless you choose to share them yourself through the Files app. Turning the switch off stops the saving.

In-app purchases

The subscription and the one-time purchase that unlock scan-and-solve are both handled through Apple’s App Store. Payment details (such as card numbers and billing addresses) are processed by Apple and are never accessible to the App. Purchase status is verified locally on the device through the mechanisms Apple provides. For how Apple handles your data, see the Apple Privacy Policy.

On-device and iCloud storage

The App stores only two small pieces of state:

The “one full free experience” marker is kept in your device’s Keychain and synced between your own devices through your iCloud key-value store; the purchase status cache is kept only in this device’s app preferences. Neither contains any personally identifying information, and we cannot read them — iCloud data belongs to your Apple Account alone. App data such as practice records likewise stays on your device.

Third-party services

The App integrates no third-party SDKs, ad networks or analytics services. The only external party involved is Apple (the App Store and iCloud).

Children’s privacy

The App collects no personal information from any user, children included. In-app purchases are subject to parental controls such as the system’s Ask to Buy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be noted in the App’s release notes.
